Professional Financial Modeler

The IFMI Board of Management hereby gives formal notice of an adjustment to the validity period of the Professional Financial Modeler (PFM) certification, effective 2026. All candidates and certified persons are advised to review the provisions below as they apply to their respective certification status.

Active Certifications

Certificate holders whose credentials are currently valid are not affected. Existing certifications remain in full force through their current expiry date. Revised terms shall apply upon next re-certification only.

Revised Validity Periods Upon Re-Certification

• Re-certification completed in 2026: valid for 3 years from date of issuance.
• Re-certification completed from 2027 onward: valid for 2 years from date of issuance.

The annual surveillance requirement is rescinded under both categories. Re-certification remains the sole basis for credential renewal.

Expired or Inactive Certifications

Certificate holders whose credentials have lapsed, or who are no longer in active standing, are advised of a limited reinstatement window open through December 31, 2026. Re-certification completed within this period qualifies for the 3-year validity term. No extension will be granted beyond this date.
